I have several comments and first is that I have been researching Grahams of Rowan and Iredell counties for over 25 years. Presently I have a book on these Grahams under constuction and at the moment it is about 500 pages. Hopefully it will go to the publisher before July 2009.
Which James and Elizabeth are you talking about? If it is James b.1670, Where did you get the name Elizabeth and what is the documentation?
I have searched and had a researcher in Scotland and there is no James b. in 1670 in Invarary. Have found other in Scotland and am now trying to document which one. While I have no documentation to th effect, I believe he was married to Marie Millar.
There is a gap of 44 years between James bo. 1670 and James b.1714. This is not unusual but I feel there is another son b. 1695, also in Scotland who was the son of James b. 1670. It is my opinion that James b. 1605 was the father of James b. 1714.
I have Elizaeth Graham, married to Griffith Rutherford. She was a daughter of James Graham and Jean Foster. I have her birth date as 1735.
I do not have anything on Pickens or Adair.
I have Jane Graham m. to James Cathey.
Because of his service in the army he was given several thousand acres in Sumner Co., TN where he and Elizabeth died.
I havegreat deal of information on some of the families in early Rowan Co.,NC. Gillespies, Rutherfords, Cowans, and several others. I too welcome any corrections or additions with documentation. You may contact me direct or thru genforum. My email is [email protected].
