Believe it or not, there were two Dr. William Jackson Gradys! One Dr. Grady was a first cousin to Henry Woodfin Grady and his line went to Alabama, where many of the descendents still reside.
The Dr. Grady I am researching appears to have been a cousin, as well.If the trail I am following is correct, his father, Grigsby Grady, was a brother to the Henry Grady. b. 1788 that married Leah King.My Dr. Grady was in Texas by 1855.He subscribed to the Atlanta Constitutionuntil his death, and told his children that Henry Woodfin was his cousin.
I have yet to find proof of Grigsby's parentage, but it appears likely that he fits into this line at this junction. If you ever come across the name Grigsby Grady anyplace, let me know!
Such a co-incidence--before I remarried, my name was Dungey, and I posted that Bible record so long ago I had forgotten about it!
