Linda, I was given the name Hugh Gracey as John W. Gracey's father in 1967 by Mr. Andrew Jackson Lafever, head of the Archives in Sparta, Tn. (White County). He also listed Zilpha ?? as the wife of John William Robinson b. 1778 Va. Zilpha is not his wife, and is recorded in my records, which we sent to the Mormom Church about 5 yrs ago. John William Robinson's wife is Susan Childress and not Zilpha as I had been given. Sorry for this error.
John W. Gracy and Elizabeth Robinson children:
John W. Gracy and Elizabeth Robinson children:1.Amanda Gracy b. 1849 d. 1888. She is the first wife of my grandfather, Jesse Amos Barr. (You can find her listed in my records, Mormom Church Files). Amanda Gracy is buried in the Pleasantview Cemetery, Putnam Co., Tn. I purchased a marker for her about 12 years ago, otherwise she had none. Her daughter, Camila (Milie) lived with my parents for several years prior to moving to Sarasota, Florida where she died. Aunt Milie does not have any grandchildren at all.

Also, "Allison Connections" by Della P. Franklin, who resides in Cookeville, Tn.

Hugh Gracey did reside in White Co., Tn but DeKalb was formed in 1837 from part of White Co., Tn. Members and descendants of his family reside in White, Warren, Dekalb, Putnam Counties Tennessee plus other surrounding areas.

Barr, his parents, children, spouses, etc is original work. I began this task in the very early 1960's and an uncle laughed at me when I started it, but he's also included. (I mailed out Family Record Forms to my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins. I collected most of the information in this manner. There were some Bible Records in the Barr family, plus I did additonal work from census records, interviews, service records, Newspaper Articles, personal knowledge, and organized my information, and began typing it aoubt 10 years ago.

Their home place was torn down about 20-25 years ago. Jesse Barr, was a Miller by trade, and also a Wagonmaker. Jesse Barr built and owned a Grist Mill on Dry Creek, Putnam Co., Tn and the road leading to his Grist Mill is now known as Bar's Mill Road. Jesse Barr has a double grave marker, however, three of the four dates engraved on Jesse Barr's headsone are in error. (His children relied on their memory when they purchased the marker). I ordered his death certificate after the new stone was already in place. I used the date from their death certificates in my records.
