Obit: Richard TOBIN, spouse of Margaret GRACE, Bay City, MI, d. 1944 The Bay City Times Bay City, Michigan February 10, 1944 Richard J. Tobin Dies at Age of 81 Retired Railroad Worker Was Ex-supervisor Richard TOBIN, 81, former Bay county supervisor and retired Michigan Central Railroad brakeman, died at his home, 1604 Woodside avenue, at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. He had suffered from heart trouble for the past three and one-half months. Mr. TOBIN was born in Canada Sept. 20, 1862, and had made his home in Bay City for 80 years. He married the former Margaret GRACE at St. James church, of which he was a member, Sept. 27, 1892. He was a member of the Bay City council No. 414, Knights of Columbus; Hive No. 1052, of the Maccabees; the Telegraphers' Union; the New York Central Pioneers association; and was first ward supervisor from 1922 to 1930. The body is at the Trahan Funeral chapel where funeral services will be held although arrangements are incomplete. Surviving is his widow, Margaret, one daughter, Mrs. James BOWE, of Detroit; three sons, James and John, both of Bay City, and Joseph, of Mt. Vernon, O; one brother, Michael of Bay City; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. If anyone wants a copy of the original newspaper obit, email me and I will send you a scanned copy.
