Wow! I'm glad to find this forum. I am wondering if, like Kevin GRABOW, if others have found that the family surname was was changed from another one. My great-great-grandmother was Catherine (nee) KRISCH GRABOWSKY. She came to the United States with her daughter and family in 1893. I don't have my notes with me right now, but can get them and give her birth/death dates as well as the family that came to the United States.
Her daughter was Charlotte Wilihemina KRISCH (born in East Prussia) who married Friedric Julius KAMRADT (also born in East Prussia). Charlotte also had a brother named Richard Krisch. Their father (whoever he was) most likely died and Catherine married (???) GRABOWSKY and they had a daughter named Mary/Marie GRABOWSKY. I guess that Mr. Grabowsky died also. Marie also came with Charlotte and Fred. She stayed in Missouri and married a Mr. VOGT.
I am certainly interested in visiting with Kevin since he not only has a close surname, but also has one of the children marrying a Joe KIRSCH.
I'm afraid I have limited info on this family. If anyone might have some info to help, I'd sure appreciate it. Also hopefully Kevin will read this and get back to me.
