Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My Grandmother, Gladys Grable Nelson, was a first or second cousin of Betty Grable. My mother, Margaret Nelson Allan, remembers Betty and her mother coming to visit the family in California. I have been trying to make sense of the Grable geneology and have concluded that much of what is available is full of missing pieces. Here is my Grable line, recorded in the family bible. The first recorded event is the birth dates of Jason Grable, b20Jun1815 and his wife, Hulda Miller, b23Feb1823. Their male children who survived to adulthood are: Jerome Grable, b 23Jan 1847,d1934; Perea Grable, b4Oct1848 d. not known; Doniphan Grable b.3May1855, d1877; Solomon Grable b10Aug1859, d1884;
Silas Grable (My great-grandfather) b. 31Mar1862, d21Jan1950; George Archer Grable b.12April1864, d1949. There is a note in my grandmother's handwriting stating that Joseph is the great grandfather of Gladys (My grandmother and the last person to record information in the Bible.) Perhaps your Joseph and mine are the same?
