Here is Levina Grable's obituary, for those interested. It was carried in the Vermillion Times newspaper of Marshall county, KS in the issue of 9 July 1925.
"Levina Evelyn Meadows was born in Illinois, January 4, 1830, and died at her home near Vermillion, Kansas, July 4, 1925, aged 95 years and 6 months.
"While quite small, she with her parents moved to Missouri, where she was united in marriage to Cyrus Grable in 1894. To this union was born fourteen children, seven of whom survive her. They are James Grable, St. Joseph, Missouri; Amelia Thompson, Ravenwood, Missouri; Anthony Grable, Stockton, California; Reason Grable, Westmoreland, Kansas; Anna Stowell, Vliets, Kansas; Cyrus Grable, Vliets Kansas. Besides a number of grandchildren there were 42 great grandchildren to survive her. Six of her grandchildren were the pallbearers.
"With her husband, who preceeded her in death several years ago, in [sic] moved to the farm where she has made her home for forty years. During this time her family has grown and have home[s] of their own.
"She united with the Christian church when quite small and has been a faithful member. In fact, been faithful does not express her standing with the church for she was always ready and willing to do whatever was requested of her.
"It was the good fortune of the writer to be acquainted with this fine lady during the many years she lived in this community and always found her a kind pleasing person to visit with.
"Thus another of the highly honored old settlers has passed on to her reward after spending a good long life on this earth.
"The funeral was conducted from the Christian church, Monday afternoon, Rev. H. E. Ballou of Effingham Kansas, officiating, and burial was made in the Vermillion cemetary in the family lot by the side of her husband.
"A large number of sorrowing friends were in attendance at the funeral. There was a profusion of fine flowers and the music was fine."
This obit was helpful in pinning down Levina's birthplace, because the federal census records recorded it variously as Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, and North Carolina! I think Levina's parents did indeed come from North Carolina. Francis J. Meadows and Mary Wilson were their names.
