Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My husband's great-grandfather was Bedford Grable from Kentucky. I found him on the 1880 census living in Leflore County, Mississippi with his wife (Alice), a son (Wirt ?) and his brother-in-law, Brook Shipp. On the 1900 census the family is in Sunflower County, Mississippi. By then the wife's name is Martha so I do not know if this is a second wife or just Alice going by another name. There are three sons and a daughter. The youngest son is Walter Brook Grable, my husband's grandfather. I could not find Bedford on the 1910 census but did find the three sons, all single and living with families where they worked. On the 1920 census I found Bedford living in Poinsett County, Arkansas with his second born son, William Albert Grable.
I just recently noticed that there was a death date listed on Bedford Grable's Civil War papers, that he died Dec. 17, 1928 in Ruleville, Mississippi.
Until I found all this information on the censuses, my husband knew nothing about his grandfather's family. If there are others working on this Family Tree I would love to exchange information with them.
