Hello,

I am interested in the Grabe's also. There don't seem to be many out there; so, I wonder if mine are related. My great grandmother was Mary Grabe. She was born in H. Darmstadt, (Germany, Prussia) in 1824. She came to the U.S. in 1830 at the age of six. She married Balser Urey and lived in Western Pa. I have found her in Armstrong Co. in 1860 and 1870, in Mercer Co. in 1880, and in Butler Co. in 1900. I haven't made any connection; but, I have a copy of naturalization papers for and "August Grabe" dated 1838 in Butler Co., PA. Also, in the Butler Co. Census for 1860, I found:
August Grabe, born 1786, G. Prussia
Living next door was George Grabe, born abt. 1818, G. Prussia
George had a son, George, born abt. 1854 in PA.

Could this be the same family?

Thanks for any help?

Carol
