Hello everybody out there ! My Goguet line starts with Pierre, then Pierre II, then Jean-Baptiste (m. Madeleine Viau Lesperance, who had only one surviving child: Jacques (m. Suzanne Bray Labonte). Jacques's son Jean-Baptiste married (1) Marie-desanges Sorel Laporte on Feb 11, 1771 in Boucherville, Qc). His son, Jean-Baptiste II married Marie Delage Lavigueur on June 1st, 1801 in Longueuil. Now something funny happens to the name it seems, because in the "mesaieux.com" website, I find this same Jean-Baptiste (II) noted as "Roguet". His son Jean-Baptiste III is then noted as "Roguer",. This last Jean-Baptiste is said to have married Marie-Louise Gosselin (d/o Joseph & Angelique Paquet Lavallee) on June 25, 1821 in St. Francois-Xavier, Vercheres. This same Jean-Baptiste (III) "Roguer" has children, some of whom are in my direct line, and whose name by then has become "Rodier"! These are: Louis Rodier (m. Sophie Parent on Sep 23, 1845 in St. Pie, Bagot); Charles Rodier (m Edwige Ruel on Nov 4, 1850 in St. Pie. Does that make sense? For some time, we thought those Rodiers were in fact Royers, but I came across other web info that also stated Jean-Baptiste Roguer as going back to Ancestor Goguet. Another thing too: On a Rootsweb page, there was someone pretending that his ancestors Jean-Baptiste Roguer married to Marie Delage Lavigueur had Metis blood. But there were no more details about that and also no source. What fun ? CAN ANYONE HELP ? Thanks, Michelle Notify Administrator about this message?
