Hi,
I've recently gotten interested in my Gower ancestors. I only know so far back as my grandparents and was hoping for some help. They travelled from the UK around the world, apparently, and ended up having my father in Malaysia. I don't know how they ended up out here in Australia.
Grandfather (deceased) - Eric Gordon Gower
Grandmother (deceased) - Violet (nee Portrey(sp?)
They had two children - Gordon (born 1952) and Valerie.
Gordon, my father, had two daughters (Sarah and myself) to Sue-Ellen Gower (nee Cook) and a daughter and son (Amanda and Liam) to his second wife Susanne Gower (nee Doherty).
I know that my grandmother was from Durram and my grandfather was from the other end of England (where exactly I don't know).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
