I have Mary Gower born on Jan 27, 1716 in Brunswick Co, VA and died on June 13, 1769 in Johnston Co, NC. Her parents were Abel Gower and Mary Robertson. Abel born about 1690 in Brunswick Co, VA and died in 1725. Mary born about 1692. I have Abel's father as Abel Sr who married Jane Hatcher. My notes say that the Gower family originally came from London and that Gower Avenue in London was named after them. There must have been a Lord Gower who went down with his ship at sea. I also have a note about a Gower who was a British sea captain. Sorry this seems so unorganized but I am not at the computer with my data stored on it. Hope this helps.
