I have been researching my family and have a question. General James Robertson is my ancestor. I have several books including The Children of Nashville and the Family of Ellen Mordant Davis. However, they list the people different than the ones I had listed before. It says that General James Robertson was the son of John Randolph Robertson and Mary Gower. John Randolph Robertson was the son of John Robertson and Elizabeth Randolph. Is this correct? My previous information had John Randolph Robertson as the son of Israel Robertson and Sarah Williams and Israel as the son of Nicholas Robertson and Sarah Marks. Which one is the correct lineage? Thanks for any information as I am now confused.
