Below is listed the only Joseph Russell I have in my file. Is this your guy? (This is not my original research)

Elizabeth Gower [Abel Jr., Abel Sr.] was born about 1760 in Brunswick County, Virginia. She married James Russell 1747- 27 Jul 1819, son of George Russell. . James served in the North Carolina Militia in the Revolutionary War and is believed to have been the last man to sign the Cumberland Compact. He is buried in Gower’s Chapel, Davidson Co., TN.
