Gwen,

Was your grandmother Emma French and Catholic? I have always assumed that my grandparent's family was of this background but have not been able to verify the fact. There are many different spellings of the name and I have not located their country of origin.

Are any of Emma's descendants in Vermont or from Vermont? My relatives, John Govreau(Govereau) and his sons Varney and Vilas Govero(Govro) owned and operated farms in Vermont. Vilas Govro died in Vermont in 1910.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Jeanne Mason Douglas
