John GOVE 1604-1648.....3 wives?

Is it possible that John had 3 wives: Sarah MOTT, Mary SALE, and Mary SHARD? If we allow that christening/baptism records are not always concurrent with birth, then it seems possible that all of these women were wives. Sarah Mott-mother of son John, named for John's father, Mary Sale-mother of Edward, named for her father, and Mary Shard-mother of Humphrey, named for her father. I've not tried to read the English records, but from all the data that appears on-line, it appears that the first two wives may have died shortly after the births of their sons and that Mary Shard lived to an old age in NH. Would someone please let me know if this is a resonable theory? I descend from Judith Gove & Jonathan Prescott though Fellows & Clement.
Thank you for any comments or ideas, Jean
