I've finally gotten around to the SC Gourleys. By studying the Rev William Martin and his five ships to SC, I've found that all did not settle in SC. One ship was supposed to go to PA, but went to Charleston instead. They scattered to other states from there. Rev William Martin went to Mecklenburg County,NC when the British burned his SC church during the Rev War.. There are several Martins on the 1790 Census in Mecklenburg County. Hugh Gourley was in SC during the Rev War. He is listed in Col Brandon's Co. There was a Matthew Patton who was a Captain there, too.
