I'm descended from Hugh Gourley through his daughter Catherine and Joseph Smith.

I have seen several references stating that Hugh Gourley served in the Revolutionary War (including his headstone), but so far I haven't been able to find proof. I wrote to the DAR, and they couldn't find it, either.

I was wondering if anyone out there had seen any actual evidence of Hugh Gourley's Revolutionary War record?
