Mertice,
It's been a few years since your posting, but I will leave a message anyway. Was your grandfather Graham Goulding born in Connecticut around 1917? If so, his parents were Carter Reuben Goulding and wife Muriel Burney. Carter was born in Gambo, Newfoundland around 1892 and arriving in CT around 1914. I have him on the US census for 1920 and 1930 in Michigan. I believe I saw a death index for him as having died in Florida, but I have no way to confirm that.

The above people (and me too!) are descended from Jacob Goulding and Jane Granter of Greenspond, Newfoundland. Later, most of the Gouldings of Greenspond moved to the Gambo/Dark Cove area (all called Gambo now). Let me know if I can be of any more help.
