Thanks for the information, Amber. I've gotten back as far as GA in the late 1700's but no further on my Gouldings. I was always under the impression that the Goulding name was German but then I saw something on the net that said it was English. My family still uses the Goulding spelling and all that I have found back to the 1700's have, also. I have been told that it was once pronounced like "Goolding" (like Cool) but we pronounce it like "Golding." I haven't found anything to suggest a Jewish connation and all the ancestors so far have been strictly Baptist; but who knows what may be found later back in Goulding history. I haven't worked on this line in a while since I've been fruitlessly searching for my Wilson ancestors. You can just imagine how much fun that's been! Again, I do thank you for writing and I'll keep this in mind when I get back to my Goulding line. Paula Notify Administrator about this message?
