Hi Stephen,
I live in Birmingham but my branch of the Goulder family came from Caister, just outside Gt. Yarmouth. No doubt you have discovered there are lots of Goulders around Norwich/Caister/Gt. Yarmouth, also Nottingham and elsewhere.The Caister & Yarmouth branches appear to be separate but I guess must have had a common origin. Most of my research has been through the Registery of Births, Deaths and Marriages in London (near Angel tube station) and also via the census records of 1851 & 1881 available at the same location.
