Anon....Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but this looks like a good possibility for being the family of Clarissa. Is Clarissa's sister (who you mentioned in your post) with this family? This census is from HeritageQuest Online.

1860 Rush Township, Jo Daviess County, Illinois Census - Page 784 - Enumerated 29 August:

William Power, 39, m, farmer, value of real estate/1500, value of personal estate/260, b. Kentucky

Sarah Power, 32, f, b. Indiana

All children were born in Illinois....

Charles Power, ll, m
Harry Power, 9, m
Malissa Power, 6, f
Lusica Power, 4, f
Clarissa A. Power, 1, f
---------------------------
Perhaps the above family on the 1880 Kansas census? This is from www.familysearch.org.

If you think the above might be Clarissa's family, let me know as I THINK I found the family on the 1870 census living in Wisconsin. I will send that info, if you would like to see it....Pauline
