Mrs. Hepsibah Gould, d 1826
Posted by: Lorna Dunklee (ID *****2198) Date: July 23, 2007 at 13:26:46
  of 3925

In one of the "early newspaper" sites on the web, I found this death notice:

Vermont Chronicle, 26 April 1826--
"In Marlboro', Mrs. Hepsibah Gould, aged 103."

I believe this woman to be the wife of Benjamin Gould, who came from Stoneham, Ma, and had sons Nathan, Ebenezer, and Benjamin Parker Gould. They all apparently ended up in Windham County, Vermont. Nathan married Ruth Dunklee, the sister of Jonathan Dunklee, my husbands ancestor. Ebenezer married Anne Scott, the sister of Jonathan Dunklee's wife Sarah. A daughter of Jonathan and Sarah [Lurane] married a son of Ebenezer and Anne [Ebenezer Jr.] Ebenezer Jr. and Lurane lived for the rest of their lives in Washington County, NY, and are buried in Hampton Flats Cemetery.
