Anna E (Gould) Newell, 46, appears as a widow on the 1880 census of Weathersfield, Windsor, VT with daughters Mary J, 16, and Jessie M., 14. Who was her husband? According to an inscription in an old bible I have, Jessie was to be the recipient of the bible from her aunt, Sarah Mehitable Gould Gardner.
I am trying to learn if Sarah M. Gardner and Anna E. Newell were sisters, and daughters of Ebenezer Gould and Lurane Dunklee Gould. The bible family record lists Lurane among the children of Jonathan and Sarah Scott Dunklee, and also gives the birth dates of Sarah M Gardner [Sep. 17, 1825] and her husband Charles W Gardner [July 15, 1821]. No places are given in the record, but Ebenezer and Lurane Gould lived in Hampton, Washington, NY.
If anyone has any info on the marriages [and parentage] of these two Gould women...Sarah M. and Anna E. I would appreciate it. Lorna Dunklee
