I am researching Robert GOUGH born 1848 London Middlesex according to 1871 - 1901 census of Birmingham Warwickshire.
He was a Purse and Pocket Book Manufacturer and married Matilda ASHTON in 1865 Birmingham. His marriage cert. states that he was a Bridle Maker and his father was a William GOUGH, a Gardener (deceased)by 1865. I cannot find a Robert GOUGH in 1861 or 1851. His children by Matilda Ashton were Charles Robert Gough born 1865, Samuel Henry Gough born 1868, Catherine Matilda Gough born 1870, Arthur George Gough born 1872. After Matilda died in 1876, Robert GOUGH remarried in 1877 to Alice FENNEY and had a daughter, Rosa in 1877 Birmingham. Is anyone connected to this family or can help me find Robert in earlier census.
His ancestor was supposed to have been a Lord Mayor of London.
