Robert, thanks for the reply. My Goughs came from Maryland through Kentucky to Indiana. There are also Virginia Goughs that moved in parallel with the Maryland Goughs. The Maryland Goughs were Catholic and the Virgina Goughs were Protestant. My Gough branch split about 1830 between Union County, KY and Daviees County Indiana. I expected John Banjamin Gough to be from one of these two branches. I wasn't aware of any Goughs in the area that were not Maryland or Virginia Goughs. There is a Goff/Gough Association that I encourage you to join. The Association is also sponsoring a DNA project to connect the various Gough branches. Five distinct branches have been uncovered to date. I would like to see your family information. Perhaps, I can help you. Of course, I will gladley share my information with you.
