My Gouge family appears to have come out of VA to NC (by the end of the Revolution). By 1808 James Gouge was in Rhea Co. TN where he died leaving widow Crotia. He seems to have had a son named Martin who may be theMartin Gouge who ended up in Cole Co. MO.
