Since 2002 we have found the baptism of Thomas Goudge's first two children in Trinity Church Parish, New York City, and records of his employment as a master smith by the British army there (1782).We have also found that he was commissioned as a Seconf Lieutenant in the Militia on June 1, 1783.This was a temporary "Militia" - a group of Loyalists heading for Saint John, and probably then to Annapolis N.S.There is a letter from Annapolis stating that Thomas Goudge was sent on to Halifax. There Thomas signed an undated "Memorial" from New York Loyalists, protesting the granting of large amounts of the best land to government favorites before Loyalists were granted any land.Other information as before.
