I apologize for my delay in responding.I would love to see a copy of the handwritten note from "Cousin Will" that you have.I believe he is my great-grandfather, William --married to Molly Newcom and son of Jessee.I have a picture of him and Jessee and others of this period.William's son is Samuel Lilburn (1889-1961, my grandfather) and his son is Edward (my father, still living in Kingsport.)
Your information that I have read seems to be accurate as far as I know.To fill in some blanks-- Jessee's wife is Nancy Winifred Childress. Some of the Gotts of this era (Lott O. and wife Elizabeth Perry) are buried at a small cemetary near the former Gott's Crossroads in Kingsport--called Pyle Cemetary off Stagecoach Rd.I recently visited and took some pictures.
Your GGG grandfather John G. Gott, a brother of Jessee, is mentioned in J. Whitten's book as b. April 8, 1806, m. Isabella/Isabel L. Piper, named for his Uncle John Gott.He is probably the "worthy nephew" named as one of the executors of his Uncle John Gott's will in 1842. d. Feb 23 1881 buried in the previously mentioned Pyle Cemetary in Kingsport.
I am not sure if you are wanting info. forward or backward from Lott O. Gott.Let me know.
