I am a desendent of James G. Gossett and Eliza C.Slaughter. Well I have come a long way with my search and have found so much more than I ever expected. I am stuck at Cavin Gossett and his wife Mary (polly) Phiffer. So many of my known family are named like the rest of the family else where, Peter,Henry,James,Thomas... I am not sure where the name Cavin comes from but I see Calvin for a couple of generations after. I had assumed that Cavin was the son of John Gossett of "Back Water" VA. , now I am not sure of this. Any light on the subject would be awesome, and then I am interested if there were any Gossett's that came west other than my Great Grand Father George Thomas Gossett, I am aware of Thomas Calvin Gossett d 1936 in Enterprize Or. and Eugene F. Gossett d 1969 in Reedsport Or. Although I do not know if any of their desendants are around these days, although I am certanly related to these two. Thanks for any info you can offer.
