I am looking for any information (esp. parentage) on Brittania GOSSETT, born ca. 1820 in Ohio who married Thomas S. SMITH before 1843, probably in Ohio. They had at least the following children: Mary Elizabeth (b. Mar. 1843, OH; mar. 1. Jacob PETIT and 2. William H. MOORE); Ann or Anna E. (b. ca. 1846, OH); Laura C. (b. Mar. 1848, VA; mar. 1. Charles H. RENTZ and 2. Cecil L. SMITH); and Charles F. (b. ca. 1854, IL). Thomas S. Smith was a gunsmith born in Pennsylvania. Thomas and Brittania are found in 1850 in Worcester, MA, in 1860 in Rockford, IL, in 1870 in Newburyport, MA. In 1880 Thomas is found with his second wife, Ruth, living in New Haven, CT, where several of his children are also residing. I have more information on the children. There are more questions about this family with every piece of information I acquire!
