IMPORTANT: Robert Gosselin, WWII, New York

I am a screenwriter from Belgrade, Serbia, researching the life of a Serbian-Italian painter Milena Pavlovic Barilli for a documentary. Little is known and on record about her private life in the USA during WWII. We know from her letters and friends that she was married to a certain Robert Thomas Gosselin or Thomas Astor Gosselin who was enlisted in the US army during WWII. We know he was serving the army in a "small town in the south" (as is
described in one letter) in October 1943, when they married. We also know that they have lived together in New York until 1946. and that he has traveled Europe and lived in Paris for a while after that.
As understanding her connection to Gosselin is paramount for understanding her person (and unveiling the mysteries surrounding her premature death) I would be very grateful if you could in any way assist me in trying to
discover more information about Robert Gosselin. What we also know is that he has remarried upon Milena's death and had children. His mother's name is given as Ruth Butterfield Gosselin.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Please mail me with any info at: mmim@sbb.rs

Thank you so much.
