Hi Peter: The Gossel, (Gosswalt/Kossel) family came from the northwestern part of Germany near the Baltic Sea Coast. During the l850's my Gossel Ancestors left Germany, settling first at Columbus,Wisconsin. My gr.gr grandfathers name was recorded as Johann Gossel (Gosswaltz), and the family were farmers. Johann and his wife, Marie, had four children at the time they came to America: John II, Sophia, Frederick, and Henry. John II, my grgrandfather, had eight children: Mary, William, John III, Emma (my grandmother), August, Wallace, Anna and Elizabeth. Maybe you can make some connections. Regards, Jalene Beattie
