I worked for the H. W. Gossard Co. for 26 years. From July of 1974 to September of 1978, I served as president of the company. Somewhere in my files I have a history of the company and a former associate of mine has just sent me a stack of the old stock certificates that were cancelled when the company entered bankruptcy in the late 20's or early 30's. I also have just returned to my home in Dallas after spending a week with my son in Chicago, the former headquarters of the company. While on this last visit, I spent some time in the Museum of Science and Industry. Among the features at this fine museum is a section called "Old Main Street" or something like that. And on this old main street section is a store front for the Gossard Corset Shop, right next a store front for one of our former customers, the Chas A Stevens Co. I would be happy to share some of the old cancelled stock certificates with the Gossard family if you would but let me know where to send them. And in time, I'll be happy to send copies of the history of the company to any address provided to me. I enjoyed my 26 years with the company; it was very good to me. In addition to providing me a livlihood for many years, both of my two wives were also employed by the company, the first one having died after 22 years of marriage. Charles R Delphenis of Dallas, Texas.
