Hello Joel,
You mentioned that you have a lot of info on the Jacob GOSS family that came out of Fairfield County, OH.
I am interested in that family as well. I have found a marriage record between a Valentine PRESLER and Elizabeth GOSS in December of 1813. I have seen mention of a daughter to Jacob Sr. and was wondering if Elizabeth might be that daughter.
I have a copy of a death record for a man by the name of Samuel PRESLER/PRESSLER b. 1813 (in Fairfield Co., OH per his obit d. 1900). This death record states that his mother was Mary GOSS. I do not have a date of birth for this Mary, but her birth year would have to have been around the same time as Elizabeth GOSS's (I've seen mention of 1792 for her birth-year).
If you can help or know where I can turn to for help on Mary GOSS, I would certainly appreciate it.
The reason I am asking is that I am trying to find the parents of a PRESLER man in my line. His name was Jacob PRESLER and there is virtually no info out there on him. He was born in Ohio (somewhere) and removed to Huntington County, Indiana in 1838 (I have a land purchase on file for him in 1838 there). Samuel PRESLER also showed up in Huntington Co. at the same time in 1838 working on the canals (Wabash and Erie). My assumption is that the two were brothers and so since there is no info on Jacob other than the census and land records (his will and obit give me nothing to work with) I am working backwards on Samuel.
