Dear Vic,
Thanks for your prompt reply and your offer to search in America if this turns out to be possible.
Either of these 2 brothers: George Gosnay Born Abt 1852 in Wakefield, Yorkshire UK.andJohn William Gosnay Born Abt 1859 also in Wakefield, Yorkshire, UK went to America. One of them married, I think in England, to the Heiress of a Toothpaste manufacturing company (possibly Gibbs or McLean or Phillips. They moved to Maine and had a newspaper printing company.
Letters and food parcels were sent to us in Wales from Maine during the 2nd world war.I remember one letter being read to us saying they had a grand house on the coast of Maine and they were having a fireplace built of Welsh Brick - they thought that this was fine as we are from Wales.
My grandfather, (brother of these men above) Thomas Gosnay Born Abt 1869 - Died Abt 1949, had a music hall act with a.n.other, known as Scott & Campbell, the flying scotsmen. They went to America on tour.
Through deaths we have lost contact with any relatives who may be surviving in America.
Good luck and thank you again.Regards Tom Gosney
