I have some information from another Gorrell researcher that states Isabella Gorrell is listed as a daughter of Andrew McEver (Andrew died in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1764) in an estate battle between Isabella's sisters on the one hand and their one and only brother, John McEver on the other hand. The "battle went on from 1769-1788 when the records come to a crashing halt.
In this context, there is a 1785 record in Cumberland County. Pa where Isabella Gorrel is listed as being served with John McEver to attend an orphan court to figuree out the estate's worth of their late father Andrew McEver. They were served by thier sister, Margaret McEver Leef and her husban Henry. It appears that Isabella may have been the only sister on his side.
