Re; Florida Gornto's
The original spelling is Gaurenteux, and is from Acadian breedung (French/Nova Scotcia). My family came to Florida on the Trail of Tears and we have had family in Hillsbourgh County for 5 generations. Gornto's settled in Lemon Fl now known as Limona Fl. just outside of Tampa.
We came by our name from Jesuit Missionaries and priests. Our bloodlines are mostly American Indian and Acadian French, tracing back to the War Cheif Geronimo and his brother Natchez. All of the Gornto men have served in the mlitary under flags of the U.S. and the 13 Confederate Indian Tribes. The last man killed in a dual at Fort Brooke (now Tampa) was Hal Gornto.
Our side of the family has tall, black haired , dark skinned , brown eyed men and tall, green eyed , blond women, as well as dark women.
