Hi Alex---Have we ever considered the possibility that your Patt Gorman and sister, Mary Ann Gorman Hogan, were siblings of my William?I think it so strange Patt was in Ophir Twp and then Ohio,Illinois at the same time as my Gormans. There was also a Richard Gorman (b/c 1820 Ireland)who married Hannah Mahoney in LaSAlle Co. during the same period.
Patt as you know married Mary Ann Mc Coy in Ohio.Their son, John was bapt'd there 28 May 1876.Mary Ann McCoy is the d/o Ann Burke and Thomas McCoy.Ann is a sis/o Ellen Burke Pyne.W/o Thomas Pyne.Patt Gorman acted as sponsor for the Pynes and Gormans.
Ann's husband, Thomas died during the Battle of Shiloh. She then married Patrick Leavy and moved to Nebraska at the same time Patt and Mary Ann did.
I Wonder????How are you?
Michele
