On 20 October 1853, Mary Gorman and Pardon Smith were married in Butler County, Ohio, by the Rev. W. S. Bacon.

Where did this Mary Gorman come from, and where did she go? Is this the same couple that purchased a homestead from the government in Mahaska County, Iowa in 1853?
