thanks for trying. Yes, I am a Merritt twice over. My grandmother was Susie Merritt, of AL. and my mother married a Merritt, a different line, in Florida. Susie married my grandfather, George Gaston Gorum. They lived in Holt FL. and had a homestead piece of land. I think her died in 1970.

My Christian first name is Martha. I know that there was a Martha Merritt back in the 1800's.
