Charels S. Gorgas & Elizabeth Skinner are listed in the Warren Co., NJ census in 1850 in the Greenwich Division [enumeration district?]. Elizabeth, b 1824 in or near Chester, Morris CO., NJ, is the youngest sister of my gg-grandfather, John Crater Skinner. Charles is listed as a butcher, age 29, b. in PA. Also listed are 3 children: Jacob S[kinner?], age 4; Joseph, age 2; and William, age 1.
Although this isn't a direct line, I am interested in tracing descendents of the Jacob Skinner & Parthenia Leake/Leek line [parents of John & Elizabeth Skinner]. I am happy to find the Gorgas GenForum page, since trying to find Gorgas sources has been difficult at a distance from NJ.
Thanks for any help from the Gorgas families.
