Attn Descendants of Wyoming Massacre Victims On August 2nd 2008, the Wyoming Monument in Wyoming, PA was struck by lightening, causing an estimated $10,000 of damages. This 130 year-old monument pays tribune to those who fought in the Wyoming Massacre in July 1778. Asa, Silas, George, Daniel and Samuel Gore were among those who fought. A fund has been set up to repair the monument. Just think, even if each of the descendants of these brave men contribute a few dollars, it could really add up! Please spread the word via family genealogy sites, etc. Contributions can be made payable to the “Wyoming Monument Repair Fund” at any M&T Bank branch, or mailed to Wyoming Borough, 277 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, PA 18644. I have included a couple links to news articles relating to the lightening strike: http://www.timesleader.com/pittstondispatch/news/Lightning_hits_monument_08-03-2008.html http://www.timesleader.com/pittstondispatch/news/Damage_is_repairable_08-04-2008.html Thanks!
