James Otis Gordon went to South Dakota,(1810 census)He had a son named Clerance. His wife and son died in a horrible house fire. James Otis Gordon went to Montana(1920 census) after he remarried. As Otis Gordon. The reason I got into it, was Otis Gordon sent a Birth Announcement to my Grandfather, RObERT LEE GORDON who had a new son, my father, ALFRED lEE GORDON.I always have felt there was a connection.
An uncle tells me that his brother was told, that Robert Lee Gordon went to school in South Dakota. There seems to be no records. My grandfather's parents were killed in a RR accident when my grandfather was a boy, with three sisters, Mary, Rebecca, and Lillie.
I have been in contact with this James Otis Gordon's grandaughter. I have photos.I will need to dig for the name of the book.It was from Golden Valley, Montana.( a history of the area)
This James Otis Gordon is buried beside his first wife in South Dakota. The grave in Montana is empty.
Yes I did alot of research.
