I am researching various Gordon families in North-West Tyrone which is in Northern Ireland.About one year ago I submitted DNA samples and the results indicated that my Gordon family belonged to the John and Thomas Gordon (Jock and Tam) branch of the family who lived near Aberdeen in Scotland.Three other Gordon families whose ancestors emigrated fom this area in County Tyrone also submitted DNA samples.The results of two of the families showed negative results and we are waiting for the result of the third family.
The DNA results of my family indicate that most of my connnections are in the USA and although most seem to have emigrated from Scotland,a number including the Sheepbridge Gordons who lived in County Down also emigrated to Virginia.Three other connections emigrated from Ireland.Some also emigrated to Australia and Canada.If Hettie Huls is out there I may be able to help you with your Gordon family
