Kay, I've found out a little more since last posting. John's father was William Gordon who was born in N. Carolina and then moved to Jennings Co. Indiana before 1824 and probably after 1820. I'm still checking but I think Hugh Gordon b: 1796 in Iredell, N. Carolina is his brother. He married in Jennings, IN 1827 then moved to Oregon. One of his records there listed his parents as George Gordon and Katherine McKay. There is quite a bit of information on Hugh in Clackamas, Oregon as he was one of the early settlers. I can't find Edington listed in my tree. I think my Gordon's may have travelled with a Cathey family from N. Carolina. The families were neighbors in Jennings Co. IN and intermarried.

Nancy
