to peggy shaffer.
i have received your e-mail response to my letter.
you say in part of your letter that this jean baptist gaudin had a son named louis, and this louis had a daughter named angelique who married.
is this the same angelique who was born on feb. 14th,1831, and died of tuberculosis on march 2nd, 1910.-and shealso had a twin named joseph who was born on that same date, and later died april 5, 1915.
according to my family tree list jean baptist gaudin and his wife charlotte had some other children besides the twins angelique and joseph gaudin.
and then, my family tree line goes on further and states that a john b. gaudin married a felicite brisette on jan.24, 1847. and they also had children of their own. and my list goes on.
would your family be of any relation to a john and felicite gordon and so on?
you stated that you have some relations in ashland, and red cliff? what are their names?was your family of the chippewa tribe in wisconsin?
as i stated in my earlier letter, my father,s family lived in the bayfield/ ashland part of wisc. and his fathermichael(my grandfather)worked for a time with the bureau of indian affairs.
he later died, on july 18th, 1966.
my father had a brother who,s name was clarence. he was born march 9, 1932; and he died july 24th, 1964.his wife,s name was elisabeth lamoreaux.
would you happen to know of them.
well, i guess i,m going to sign off for now, peggy,
please respond back when you can if you have any further information to give me, and i will do the same if it connects with what i have on my family tree list.
signed,
jim gordon
