Hello Amanda,I have come across the Moses Gordon line in Pa.The only thing I have been able to connect to him is the fact that some of his sons were named Moses, Phillip, and I think David......Uriah had sons named Moses, Phillip and David. The only info I can find on Uriah Gordon's parents are zilch.....Stories go that his mother was not married when he was born and that he was raised by the Diehl family, or the Mock family.I have searched high and low for info on Uriah, and so far, I come up a zero.I would think that Bedford County Pa would have something in their Historical Society, or at the courthouse.I know Uriah owned a house, property, and that he was a merchant and a farmerAso, I have a copy of his will. One of his sons, Daniel Wilt Gordon was my great grandfather-he married Imogene Clara Stufft.I am also seeking info on Uriah's son Phillip Gordon who migrated to Michigan, and Phillip's daughter Rachel Alicemarried a Lycurgus/Licurgus Kirkpatrick. I have not been able to find further info on this.Do you know if the book re Gordons is available to purchase/or. I have been in touch with Ivan Corle of Pavia Pa, and Ron Sell of Altoona, as well as a member of the Bedford Historical Society, and still no info.I feel there is someone who knows about Uriah, and 'the big dark secret'.Like you, I come up with many Gordon's in Bedford, Somerset, Fayette Counties etc, but no connection.I would appreciate more info on your line. Thanks for e mailing me, and keep in touch.
