Looking for any information about (1) Julia (Goos(e)man) Spangengerg, 1858-1908,in TN; married to Charles Frederick Spangenberg in Nashville, TN in April 1878, buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery; (2) Her sister,Katie (Goos(e)man)(Hagey) Winbourne 1854-1913, born in NY, buried in Mt Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN; (3) Their parents (names unknown) who imigrated from Germany according to census information.
The name may be Goosman. On Julia's marriage license her name is spelled Goosman and someone? added the (e) making it Gooseman. One of the witnesses, maybe her father, signed as Mr Goosman, without the (e).
The cemetery documentation had the name Goosman and was later changed to Gussman by the cemetery officials. Even this query follow-up posting had the spelling interchanged.
The Nashville City Directory had other names as: Henry, Frank, Hy, William, all Goosman. Also: Katherine Gussman, Henry Gooseman, and William Gooseman age 7. Directory dates ranged from 1881 to 1905.
I've been hard pressed to find this little bit of information over the years while visiting in Nashville, so would be thankful for any help you can give.
Thanks,
Larry
