Dear Ms. Kathryn Goolsby
I believe you might be my first half-cousin. My dad, Otis H. Goolsby, had a half-brother whose name was James Goolsby, and James' mother's maiden name was Nett Bramlett. Their father moved to Memphis in the mid-1920's. I'm almost certain that James was born in Memphis, as I was. Was your mother's name Allie, and did she have red hair? If she did, I met her in 1952 or 1953. James was 2 years older than I was and I used to visit him and his older brother, William, on many Sunday afternoons.
I would like to hear from you and learn if you are in fact my first half-cousin. I have my genealogy (and perhaps yours)back to John Goolsby, who came to Virginia in 1642. Please let me hear from you. My e-mail address is OHGEMG@aol.com. Sincerely, O. Halbert Goolsby.
